We are excited to announce that we have partnered with One Tree Planted and will be planting 10 trees for every new client! Our team was looking for a way to offset our carbon footprint, become carbon negative, and leave a positive impact environmentally and socially. In order to accomplish this goal, we scoured the internet for the best tree-planting organization, and are happy to be moving forward with One Tree Planted.
In May and June, 40 trees were planted in British Columbia on our behalf. We are so thankful to do what we love in digital marketing and still contribute to the environment in a positive way.
About One Tree Planted
One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization focused on global reforestation. Every dollar that is donated to their organization is used to plant one tree. They are working with over 43 countries in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Pacific. Across the globe, they are restoring forests after environmental disasters, creating jobs, building communities, and protecting wildlife habitats.
Our planet has been experiencing a variety of intensifying climate disasters. One Tree Planted is focused on restoring the complex ecosystems that were destroyed as well as creating new biodiverse habitats. Astoundingly, they doubled their impact from 2020 to 2021, with 23.5 million trees planted!
We are so excited to be a part of this journey of reforestation!
Benefits of Planting Trees
What would the world look like without trees? We really don’t want to find out, but imagine it would be nothing like this:
Trees provide a vast amount of benefits to humans, animals, and the Earth. Planting trees helps clean the air we breathe, absorb carbon from the atmosphere to offset greenhouse gasses, and provides a habitat for over 80% of terrestrial biodiversity on Earth.
Not only are trees beneficial to reducing climate change, but they also provide a large source of food for people and other living organisms through the production of fruit, nuts, and in some cases, berries. On top of this, trees provide vital ingredients for 25% of medications. They really are life savers!
Let’s not forget about the physical and psychological health benefits, especially in urban areas. Living in greener environments has been associated specifically with lower all-cause mortality rates and has been shown to decrease stress.
